Affiliate Marketing for Newcomers
Many newcomers to online marketing are drawn to affiliate marketing because no product or service of your own is needed. By going to one of many affiliate networks (like Amazon, Clickbank, Commission Junction or CPA networks) and signing up for a product to promote, you can be started in no time. The sales page is already prepared for you, making it an easy business model when starting, with no products of your own.
Most merchants offer great support for their affiliates, so if you come across one that is’nt offering much support, it may be worth looking further till you find one that does. This will certainly help you to get started. You won’t need to store inventory as an affiliate, which makes this business model very appealing.
Another advantage is the fact that you are your own boss, and can choose your own hours to work, from any location, as long as you have an internet connection. You can choose to team up with other like-minded marketers to increase your sales and knowledge, once you have been doing it for a while.
The learning curve can be quite steep at first, and you will find there’s plenty of competion as well. But once you’re earning money there’s really no limit as to how much you can earn. Investing in the right training tools, and finding a good mentor with great training capabilities will get you there a lot quicker than trying to learn everything on your own. Many scammers will try and sell you a dream of the ability to make unbelievable amounts of money or overnight riches, while putting no effort into your business, but be warned this is just not true.
You will always need to work while building any business, and online marketing is no different. If you’re prepared to put in the time and effort to succeed, affiliate marketing can provide a great lifestyle, and a very lucrative way of living.

Hi Cheryl, the obnly problem I find with selling affiliate products is not knowing the quality of the work. I decided a long time ago I will only sell an affiliate product I have used myself and know to be of value.

I believe that Affiliate Marketing is the easiest way to get started online but of course, there are several platforms that are easier to use than others as well.
I think Clickbank is one of the easiest to deal with, but you also need to build up some trust and branding for yourself before attempting to make a sale.
As for what Mandy wrote in the comments, if you are not using the product, you shouldn’t be recommending it.
That only hurts your reputation, even if it comes from your mentor, get that as a rule of thumb:
Never promote anything you’re not 100% satisfied with or you’ll end up losing your audience AND reputation as an Internet Marketer sooner than later.
