Picking the Right Domain Name
Many people are already making hundreds, or even more from their moneymaking domains. Websites can even make thousands of dollars a week, and there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to do the same, once you know how.
A good niche will need to be chosen first. The definition of a good niche is a group of people who have a common need or interest. For example, people who love knitting are a niche. Other niches are horseriding, model planes, cooking fancy cupcakes or classic cars.
The best niches are those which are made up of “desperate buyers”. This could be people who are seriously overweight, or people suffering hair loss, or chronic headache sufferers. Many of these “desperate buyers” niches have become very competitive. There are many different websites competing for the same potential buyers.
Sometimes it can be easier if you can find a niche which you are passionate about, but this isn’t necessary.
Purchasing a domain name will follow after deciding on your niche. There are many services such as Godaddy or Namecheap where you can purchase domain names. The price will depend on whether you buy a .com, a .net or a .org. Always try to get a .com if possible.
Try to get a domain name which is as close as possible to the keyword of your niche. For example, if your niche was organic vegetable gardening, your keyword would be organic vegetable gardening. Your domain name should be something like www.organicvegetablegardening.com or www.organicvegetablegardening.net or www.organicvegetablegardening.org.
So, your domain name should be identical to your key phrase, or as close to it as possible. Sometimes you’ll be able to get an exact match domain name. But often you will find that the .com, .net. and .org have already been taken. If this is the case, a good alternative would be to use a “stop word”. These include “a” “the” and “my”. So try putting any of these words at the beginning.
By finding a domain name that’s very close to your key phrase, you will have won half the battle for making money on the internet.
